Nesting

Stoneware. 

This is one of my earliest sculptural pieces, when I was still learning how to make human faces. I got the angle of the head on the neck completely wrong, but I thought it would work wonderfully if I filled her head full of tiny nesting birds instead. 

"People With Things On Their Heads" is a trope in ceramic portraiture, so I am riffing off that slightly with a "Person With Things In Their Head". It was also a reflection of how I was distracted, with my own head full of baby birds, all cheeping at once.
